cmotion cPRO Moon Smart Focus Integration Guide

When connecting to a Cmotion Lens Control System, the protocol should be set to Classic in the Moon App.
You’ll need an LCUBE to convert the serial protocol to LBUS.

With either the cPRO CAMIN or a cPRO motor, connect the LCUBE into the LBUS chain.

Then connect the Moon Brain to the LCUBE using the custom serial cable MSF.C40.01 CUB-1 SERIAL.

App Setup

Open Settings in the Moon App (double-click the button in the lower-right corner).
Under Connections → Setup, set:

Protocol: Classic
Connector: Moon Serial Connector

cPRO Display Readout

On your cPRO hand unit, the Moon readout appears as an arrow on the distance scale in the Main and FIZ views (when a lens file is loaded).
You’ll also find a Range view directly after FIZ, showing numeric distance values.
Values turn green when the lens distance matches (or is within DOF tolerance) of the Moon readout.

Rangefinder Menu

Press and hold the middle button below the display (when in Range view) to open the Rangefinder menu.
Here you can:

Apply an offset
Set range limits
Adjust sensitivity

All of these parameters can also be set from the Moon App, which may be faster during setup.

Autofocus Control

Autofocus can be toggled directly from the Rangefinder menu or via user-assigned buttons:

AF Press — activates autofocus while pressed
AF Toggle — switches autofocus on / off

Assign these shortcuts in the Buttons menu of the cPRO hand unit.

Ensure the LCUBE is powered from the same source as the LBUS chain for stable data communication.
