All integrations share a unified approach:

  • Plug & play connectivity through Moon Serial Connectors

ARRI WCU-4 & Hi-5

Connects via LBUS using LCUBE CUB-1 (or direct on ALEXA 35).
Supports full distance readout and focus tracking directly on your WCU-4 or Hi-5.

cmotion cPRO

Integration with Cmotion cPRO uses the Classic protocol through an LCUBE CUB-1, converting serial data into the LBUS chain.

Once connected, the Moon Brain communicates directly with the cPRO CAMIN or a cPRO motor, displaying precise distance data and autofocus status on the hand unit.Autofocus can be toggled via user buttons or from the Rangefinder menu,

Which lens control systems work with Moon Smart Focus?

ARRI WCU-4, ARRI Hi-5, Preston, Teradek RT, Tilta Nucleus-M/Nano, and Hedén Ymer.

Do I need a specific cable for each system?

Yes — Moon provides dedicated serial cables (MSF.C40 series) for each integration.

Does Moon Smart Focus work with ALEXA 35?

Yes. ALEXA 35 connects directly via serial cable (no LCUBE required).

Can I use autofocus with any system?

Yes, all integrations support autofocus toggling via a button on the HU and/or a button in the Moon Smart Focus interface. If supported via the Moon Smart Focus interface you can also use a wireless BLE button to toggle autofocus.
